Ladbrooke JMI School
Last week I was contacted by Guardian Solicitors, a business based in Potters Bar offering to donate some Harry Potter Books to our school library. These books are always popular in school and the children love to read them so we were extremely grateful for the donation. When the books arrived, it was lovely to see some different published versions of the books and when the Y6 children first saw the books they said the new editions made them want to read the books all over again.
The Y6 prefects, dressed in their end of term outfits, gratefully received the books into our school library and arranged them on the shelf for all the children to see. They are now ready to be chosen by all the junior children next term.
In addition to this, they also donated some gifts for the school to distribute. After some thought about how to distribute the gifts, we decided to do a raffle ensuring two children from each class were chosen and then the rest were given out randomly. In the end 20 children were lucky enough to walk away with a £20 gift voucher to spend on something nice.
We are so appreciative of this kind gift from Guardian Solicitors. We wish they could have seen the look on the children’s faces when they found out they were lucky enough to be going home with their gift.
